French floating PV system developer Ciel et Terre plans to develop 30 MW of floating solar projects in eastern India with local partner Klystron Electronics Pvt. Ltd., a Ciel et Terre spokesman told PHOTON.

With assistance from the European Business and Technology Center, Ciel et Terre has signed a memorandum of understanding with Klystron to build PV projects in West Bengal using its proprietary Hydrelio PV technology. Ciel et Terre could not provide additional details about the West Bengal projects since they are still in the early stages. The company is currently building 47 MW of floating PV projects in France. Ciel et Terre’s Hydrelio technology, developed in partnership with French commercial diving and marine service provider Techsub, a subsidiary of the Aquago group, relies on standard 250 W crystalline PV modules and standard inverters from any manufacturer. PV systems built using the Hydrelio© technology are scalable and can range in size from 1 to 50 MW.
